THE POINTE project in downtown Nassau, the Bahamas resumed construction on May 4, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bahamian government announced that the country is moving to Phase 1b in the reopening the economy, allowing construction to be carried out from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week under industry protocols.
The project team has outlined a detailed plan that employees in the field can easily follow to reduce the risk of exposure to coronavirus, including measuring each worker’s temperature, disinfecting and ventilating the job site’s common areas, shuttles, offices and camp sites, providing masks for workers and setting up hand-washing stations. All workers are required to dine in shifts and practice social distancing during the resumption of construction.
Situated in downtown Nassau near the cruise ship port, THE POINTE is the region’s most anticipated destination for 2020. It includes hotel rooms and condos, beachfront villas, retail outlets, restaurants, spas and theaters, a marina, a multi-floor garage and an entertainment center.
