Stage 4 Construction Completed at AHB

Good news came from the Alexander Hamilton Bridge project again: the Stage 4 construction, which included the demolition of two existing lanes on the I-95 Northbound bridge deck and approach structures’ concrete deck, steel structure repair, and construction of a new deck, was completed 45 days ahead of schedule. The Full Incentive Bonus will be awarded to this signature project of NYC as a result.

Before switching to Stage 4 construction, which only had one operating lane in the lower level of the Northbound I-95 in July 2012, the NY/NJ public commuters showed a lot of concern about the traffic conditions for the following 6 months. By working together with the NYSDOT, the AHB project team established the goal of finishing Stage 4 on Dec. 9^th 2012. Even though there were many unforeseen conditions such as the unusual amount of rain in October and Hurricane Sandy in November, the project team carried out a well devised plan and accomplished the goal 10 days earlier than scheduled without increasing any overtime.

By finishing Stage 4 construction ahead of time, CCA Civil / Halmar, once again, convinced the NYSDOT that we are confident and capable of delivering a high quality project on schedule and servicing the people of Metro-New York.
