On April 14, CCA Civil completed the sheaves erection and installation of four secondary reducers on The Wittpenn Bridge. The primary span operating machinery systems have been set on top of the machinery houses. The Wittpenn Bridge project team will continue to work closely with the owner and subcontractors to finalize the machinery house and control house in the coming months.
The Wittpenn Bridge project is located within Jersey City and Kearny in Hudson County. The bridge serves as a major connector between Routes 139 and 1&9T to the east, and the New Jersey Turnpike Interchange 15W and Newark/Jersey City Turnpike to the west. CCA Civil’s job is to replace the 85-year-old bridge with a new one south of the existing bridge. Upon completion, the project will reduce vehicular and marine traffic conflicts and provide the public with safer travel conditions.
Thank you to all job site personnel for the commitment and support in keeping the project operating smoothly during this challenging COVID-19 time. CCA Civil will continue its efforts to perform the work safely and efficiently to achieve the committed project schedule.
