Rehabilitation of I-278 Bridges Achieves Final Completion

CCA Civil officially completed the Rehabilitation of I-278 Bridges project in New York on Oct. 31, 2020. This design-build contract with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) involved the rehabilitation of four bridges on the I-278 Expressway on Staten Island and one bridge over the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn.
For the past two months, the project team, craft labor and the subcontractors have been working diligently to perform all punch list items and improvement work that the owner added via change orders. In addition, all seasonal landscaping, which is part of the final beautification program and can only take place between Sept. 15 and Nov.15, was completed on time.
CCA Civil rose to the challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic pushing through to successful completion. Filled with pride of ownership, the project team worked safely and collaboratively with all stakeholders with the utmost professionalism to deliver a final quality product that will serve the public for many decades.
