CCA has officially signed the contract for the Hailiang Texas Copper Manufacturing Plant project on Aug. 6. As the third plant project for CCA in the United States after Haier America Industrial Park and CRRC Railcar Factory, the Hailing project marks CCA’s continued progress in industrial plants construction.
Located in the town of Sealy of Texas, the project includes 40,000 square meters of manufacturing plant, office space, affiliated buildings and other facilities. After completion, the manufacturing line will be put into operation to make copper, copper alloy and brass products, including rods, fittings and tubular products. The owner, China Hailiang Group, is one of China’s largest exporters of copper pipes and fittings and boasts several production bases in China and Southeast Asian countries.
As both the first manufacturing plant Hailiang has built in the United States and the first Chinese investment in Sealy, the Hailiang Texas Copper Manufacturing Plant project is being warmly welcomed by local communities. The project is expected to bring 250 jobs to the city and bolster local economic development and the county’s education system.
CCA has a long-standing connection with Houston dating back to 2003 when the company helped with the Chinese Consulate General in Houston expansion project. In May of 2015, CCA purchased Broadstone Post Oak, a luxury rental building in Houston, marking the company’s debut in the booming Texas real estate markets. Now with the Hailiang Copper Manufacturing Plant project, CCA will delve deeper into the local construction market.
