CCA President Ning Yuan Received Blue Cloud Award at China Institute’s Annual Gala

China Institute hosted its 2017 annual Blue Cloud Gala at the Cunard Building in Lower Manhattan. More than 300 global leaders from culture, business and fashion participated in the event. Ning Yuan, chairman and president of China Construction America (CCA), was presented with the Blue Cloud Award for his significant contributions to the China-US relations.
As China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC)’s largest overseas subsidiary, CCA upheld the vision of CSCEC, the largest investment and construction group in the world, to become the most competitive player in the field. Under Mr. Yuan’s leadership, CCA has successfully transformed from a small local contractor to a multinational company in the Americas. With more than 98% of its employees hired locally, CCA has maintained an average annual growth rate of over 40% in the last decade. Because of Mr. Yuan’s exceptional contributions and unparalleled leadership, he was elected the third and fourth chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce USA (CGCC-USA) and continues to serve as vice chairman afterwards. Mr. Yuan is a passionate supporter of a healthy and productive China-US relationship, contributing materially to the bilateral commercial and economic exchanges. Dedicated to educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries, Mr. Yuan has been invited to give lectures at many prestigious educational institutions.
Mr. Yuan thanked China Institute and congratulated other honorees. He stated, “US President will pay a state visit to China from November 8 to 10, and I am very much looking forward to the meeting between the two presidents on increasing cooperation in bilateral, regional and global affairs.”
Besides Mr. Yuan, the gala also honored four other outstanding individuals with the Institute’s annual Blue Cloud Award including Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor of New York State; Ronald O. Perelman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MacAndrews & Forbes Incorporated; Vera Wang, the prominent bridal wear designer and Robert Hong Xiao, Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World Co., Ltd.
Founded in 1926 by forward thinking educators including Dr. Hu Shih, John Dewey, and leading educators at Columbia University, China Institute was built on a belief in cross-cultural scholarship and dialogue as a foundation for a strong and positive US – China relations. The Blue Cloud Award is presented to remarkable individuals who have strengthened the bonds between the United States and China in education, arts and culture, and business. Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts; Richard L. Gelfond, the Chief Executive Officer of the IMAX Corp; Dr. Leroy Chiao, former NASA astronaut; Jon M. Huntsman, former U.S. Ambassador to China and Lun Feng, chairman of Vantone Holdings have all received Blue Cloud Award.
