CCA Calls to Go Dark for Earth Hour 2021

March 24, 2021

KEYWORDS:

As a continuation of CCA’s Go Green initiatives and a symbol of its commitment to the planet, the company is encouraging employees to switch non-essential lights and electronics off for one hour for Earth Hour 2021, a global event that starts at 8:30 p.m. March 27.

Encouraging employees to participate in Earth Hour demonstrates CCAs efforts to continually expand our sustainability philosophy of “Think Green, Build Green, and Work Green.”

Some ideas on how to spend your Earth Hour are to:
· Play board games or puzzles by flashlight or lantern with your family
· Eat dinner by candlelight
· Camp in your backyard or living room
· Practice your artistic skills by drawing your family’s portraits with glow-in-the-dark paints
· Try to spot constellations in the sky by eye or through a telescope
· Practice nighttime photography by candlelight. Hashtag #LOVECCA on Instagram and Facebook and show us how you spent your Earth Hour with your family
· Practice awareness! Count how many electronics are unplugged and how many switches are turned off at your home and see how these numbers can be reduced on a daily basis

Starting as a single-city initiative in Australia in 2007, Earth Hour has grown into a global movement. Millions of people from more than 180 countries across all continents participate in the world’s greatest environmental action by turning off their lights and limiting electrical usage. Earth Hour invites all of us to take responsibility for our environmental impact and join a growing international community of people who are committed to leading environmental change. As a staunch advocate for the environment, we strive to make everything we touch greener, stronger and more enduring. Find out more about Earth Hour by visiting www.earthhour.org.
